Software Engineer I

         
Job Description:
Provide the analysis, design,programming, testing and debugging of core system software. Typically modifies existing software, consulting with senior members of the engineering staff to ensure appropriate techniques are used and requirements are met. Provides developement estimates and writes appropriate documentation. Location in Denver area.


Responsibilities:
Responsibilities will include:
·    Providing analaysis, programming, testing and debugging of software modules.
·    Modifying existing software in order to change or enhance software products. ·    Develop engineering documentation for software developed.
·    Work in conjunction with Software applications staff to determine needs of the software system in order to provide required system functionality for use by software applications.
·    Provide developement estimates for new software system enhancements.
·    Occasional interdepartmental communication within ETD.

Qualifications:
·    4 Year Bachelors degree in Computer Science/Software Engineering
·    Good understanding of software Engineering methodologies.
·    Fluent knowledge of high level programming languages such as C/C++
in addition to proficiency with UNIX operating system.
·    competent oral and written communication skills
·    Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Preferred Experience:
 ·    Problem solving
 ·    Using Evalution, originality or ingenuity is required to hold this position.  Incumbent is given flexiblity in regards to programming their software but more senior level engineers within the Software Engineering department make the major design decisions. This position typically requires few detailed instructions on routine assignments, yet may require more detailed instructions on complex assignments.
