Engineer - Mechanical
Job
Description:
The successful candidate will be responsible for providing technical
services to clients such as project developers and financial
institutions that are developing or purchasing facilities, providing
equity or lending capital for international and domestic independent
power, and cogeneration projects, either new, existing or repowered. As
part of our client’s team, the individual will evaluate the
technical feasibility of these projects. These projects will range from
in size 10 MW to 1,000 MW, with a wide range of technology and
fuels. Location in Boston area.
Responsibilities:
Initial responsibilities will include reviewing or assisting in the
review and comment, both domestic and international of: Concept design
and feasibility of the power projectsConstruction plans, power purchase
agreements, fuel purchase agreements, operations and maintenance
contracts and thermal sale and construction
agreements·
Design work produced by other firms
· Operations and maintenance
plans and programs, power facilities’ efficiency
· Performance testing
witnessing
· Review and development of
financial spreadsheet models.
Qualifications:
· Minimum of a B.S. degree in
engineering
· Minimum of 2 years of
experience
· Experience with power plant
design requirements, mechanical engineering, operations and maintenance
fundamentals or contract structures
· Good oral and written
communications skills
· Ability to work as part of a
team within a team oriented environment
· Knowledgeable in computer
skills PREFERENCES
· B.S. degree in Mechanical or
Electrical Engineering
· Experience in an engineering
firm or project development organization
· Experience with developing
or designing projects or heading up a design team
· Experience with
international projects
· Foreign language capability
